Family Physicals

The physical exam is an essential service provided by the medical staff at Mid Florida Medical & Chiropractic Center. We take the time to listen to your concerns and provide counseling for your particular needs. We check your medical history and update your vaccination status. We check your vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiration rate and body temperature. We conduct examinations of your heart, lungs, head, neck as well as your ears, nose and throat. We believe a physical examination is a good way for us to catch an early diagnosis of any future problems that may occur.

EKG Tests

An EKG, or electrocardiogram, is a test that checks for problems with the activity of your heart. We conduct an EKG test to :

Help find the cause of an unexplained chest pain.
Help find the cause of symptoms of heart disease.
Check how well medicines are working and whether they are causing side effects that affect the heart.
Check the health of the heart when other diseases or conditions are present such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol.

Allergy and Sinus Problems

An allergy is an abnormal response of the immune system that reacts to a substance in the environment, such as pollen or mold. These are called allergens. Common symptoms of an allergic reaction are;

Watery Eyes.
Sneezing.
Itchy, runny nose.
Rashes.

In order to diagnose allergies, we will ask a series of questions to determine if your problem is allergy related. In addition to this, we will perform a complete physical exam. We may perform other tests to determine which allergies are causing the symptoms, such as skin or blood tests. At Mid Florida Medical & Chiropractic Center, our one goal is to help relieve your allergy problems.

A sinus infection is inflammation or swelling of your sinuses. When the sinuses become blocked and filled with fluid, bacteria can grow and cause infection. Symptoms include;

Thick, yellow nasal discharge.
Pressure or pain around the face and eyes.
Headache.
Nasal obstruction.
Congestion.

These symptoms are similar to a cold, but if they last more than 10 days, it may be sinusitis. We can diagnose a sinus infection after a physical exam and medical history evaluation. We can then treat the condition with medication, such as antibiotics. Call our Kissimmee clinic for an appointment and we can help relieve sinus infection.

Ear, Nose and Throat Infections

An ear infection is the most common cause of earaches. Left untreated, ear infections can lead to more serious complications, including mastoiditis, hearing loss, perforation of the eardrum, meningitis and possibly, in adults, Menagerie's disease. It is our goal to rid the ear of infection before serious complications set in. Our treatment includes killing any invasive bacteria, boosting your immune system and reducing swelling of the ear.

Sore throat, strep throat? We will diagnose and prescribe the best treatment for your symptom, using the latest technology and medication. Whatever your problem, we can help.

Control of high blood pressure and cholesterol

High Blood Pressure is a disease you may not know you have. There are no outward signs or symptoms, so monitoring your blood pressure is critical. The only way to tell whether you have high blood pressure is to be measured with a blood pressure cuff. Treating high blood pressure can take a multi pronged approach including medication, diet changes and exercise. At Mid Florida Medical & Chiropractic Center, we take the time to assess your symptoms and recommend the best course of action to treat your high blood pressure.

Cholesterol is a waxy fat like substance made in the liver and other cells. When too much cholesterol is present in the body health problems, such as heart disease may develop. Plaque may form in the body's arteries narrowing the space for blood to flow to the heart. Over time, this can cause hardening of the arteries leading to heart disease. Everyone over the age of 20 should get their cholesterol level checked. We will test your cholesterol level and ,if necessary, recommend treatment to reduce the levels based on your condition. So give us a call today to arrange for your cholesterol test.
